AFP CA, Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter: Strategies for Diversity and Inclusion - Continuing the Conversation

July 12, 2017

Strategies for Diversity and Inclusion:
Continuing the Conversation
July 12, 2017

We all know our organizations are supposed to be more diverse and inclusive, but exactly how are we supposed to get there? This fast-paced training will help you take the next steps.
First, Emilie Neumann, Program Officer of the Weingart Foundation, will discuss their newly-revised grant application, and talk about how foundations are working to encourage nonprofits to pursue greater diversity. Weingart is just releasing their new diversity guidelines now, so you'll be among the first to hear about it.

Then, Jarrod Schwartz of Just Communities will share their specific insider strategies for attracting more diverse individuals, especially for your board of directors but also for your staff and volunteers.

Finally, there are lots of handouts, with specific stories of organizations that have embraced diversity and inclusion with tremendous results.

Please join us for this brown-bag presentation (bring your lunch!).
