Interim Operations Manager

Leading From Within (LFW), based in Santa Barbara, CA, is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to provide strong management and administrative support for the organization.

Managerial Responsibilities:

The Interim Operations Manager position requires a high level thinker who can manage and understand complexity in a way that ensures the operations serves our mission, culture and brand. This person must also provides mature and caring interpersonal communications with participants, supporters and larger network.

  1. Supervises support staff to to ensure organization delivers the highest standard of best business practices and provides the highest level of customer service to our program participants, supporters, and greater LFW network.

  2. Manages all administrative efforts and logistical support for the organization. Primary point of contact and support for administrative and event staff. Helps clarify priorities to effectively use staff time and manage workload.

  3. Identifies systems and process to improve efficiency of operations.

  4. Works closely with the Executive Director, Director of Leadership Programs, and Program

    Facilitators to identify, understand and meet the organization’s needs. Includes thoughtful communication from Interim Operations Manager to raise questions and/or concerns around the organizations operations.

Job Duties:

In addition to managerial responsibilities, the Interim Operations Manager is responsible for the daily functioning of the organization which may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Works with Bookkeeper to manage accounting systems and serve as point of contact for LFW team and staff for all accounting related issues.

  2. Assists with fundraising projects including manages donation receiving and processing.

  3. Manages program support, including sessions, hospitality, logistics, marketing and recruitment.

  4. Supports program recruitment by serving as primary point of contact for applicants, managing

    website updates and ensuring accurate application processes, and marketing communication.

  5. Ensures accuracy of database for program participants & LFW network, this includes Salesforce, Listservs and Alumni Dashboard.

  6. Manages all LFW events and meetings, including marketing, logistics, and hospitality with support team.

  7. Manages LFW Office, including equipment, supplies, meeting space, and Impact Hub memberships.

  8. Manages LFW Calendars.


    Expectations:
  1. Attends LFW events. This may require administrative support work (set up/clean up, errands, event/program/meeting prep.

  2. Attends committee and other LFW meetings (staff, development, marketing, admin).

  3. Supports and manage LFW Administrative staff workload and hours.

Qualifications:

  • ●  Natural ability to raise questions and identify connections between operational tasks and organizations goals.

  • ●  Strong interest in the social sector with familiarity with LFW preferred

  • ●  Previous administration experience in a fast-paced office environment

  • ●  Track record of excellent project management

  • ●  Outstanding organizational and written/oral communication skills

  • ●  Ability to work with minimal supervision; excellent follow through and a reliable, flexible team player

  • ●  Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • ●  Excellent problem-solver

  • ●  Strong computing skills including (at a minimum) fluency in Word, Excel, and Google

    Docs/Drive, including mail merge

  • ●  Familiarity with Google platform, SalesForce and Constant Contact preferred

    Job Status:

    Hourly
    Short term Full-time role | 40 hours/week
    Hours: 9-5pm, with exception for events and not to exceed full time Reports to Executive Director

    Compensation:

    $25/hour

    Location & Timeline:

    Downtown Santa Barbara office
    Position starts April 1, through mid September
