Every nonprofit seeks to authentically engage the talent of its board of directors. This is especially true when it comes to fundraising. Join us for this morning discussion and learn from your peers how they have mastered the art of engaging board leaders in better fundraising. This moderated and engaging panel discussion will include voices from the executive leadership, development professional, and volunteer leadership perspectives.

A sailor and backpacker, Michelle Howard, Development Director, Wilderness Youth Programs, is thankful to bring her love of the outdoors to work. 2014 marks Michelle's ninth year with Wilderness Youth Project. Prior to that she spent seven years as an executive in the software industry and ten years in grassroots fundraising, organizing and writing. A UCSB alum, Michelle feels fortunate to be a twenty-one -year resident of Santa Barbara, and spends her free time exploring the wilderness in our own back yard with her teenage daughter.
Prior to accepting the position as Vice President for University Advancement at California State University Channel Islands almost four years ago, Nichole Ipach, Vice President for University Advancement, was the University's Assistant Vice President (AVP) for University Development. Nichole has been with CSU Channel Islands since 2006 and a fundraising professional since 2001, working for reputable non-profit organizations such as the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County and Many Mansions.
Roberto Martinez has served as CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo since 2015, and prior served as Vice President of Programs starting in 2011. Mr. Martinez began his career with Boys & Girls Clubs in 2003, directing Clubhouses for both the San Bernardino and Redlands organizations. Roberto has a Bachelor’s Degree in Developmental Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, both awarded from Cal State University San Bernardino.
